Motion - Support Question 2008x 11x 26x 053107

Are 'working device' camera drivers installed with the Motion installation?

Question

My camera, a Logitech Quickcam OrbitMP, is a "working device", I believe.

Does the fact that it is listed as a working device mean that the driver is already installed as part of Motion?

I've plugged the camera into my Ubuntu 8.10 box, but I don't see any 'video0' or 'video1' file or folder within the /dev directory.
Paste in your error messages, config settings, terminal window output etc in this text field.

Answer

Motion never will install a kernel module ( driver ) . So you have to check that is loaded ( lsmod ) or load if not ( sudo modprobe module_name )
