Motion - Support Question 2010x 06x 06x 102519

How to take pictures less frequently during motion?

Question

I'd like to setup a script to email me pictures during motion, but at the moment it seems a vast number of images are created. I'd like to reduce the frequency with which motion takes pictures.

I've set minimum_frame_time to 3 and framerate to 2 but there are more than 2 pictures a second being taken (maybe 6-10). Any suggestions? Thanks.

Paste in your error messages, config settings, terminal window output etc in this text field.

Environment

Motion version: 3.2.11
ffmpeg version:
Libraries: ffmpeg, mysql, postgresql
Server OS:

Answer

You can use this option :

http://www.lavrsen.dk/foswiki/bin/view/Motion/ConfigOptionOutputNormal

and instead of on use best. Then motion will only save 1 image for each event.

Setup gap value too:

There're other ways , but this looks pretty good way.
