Problems controling motion via cron - bug?
Question
I just cannot get Motion to be controlled via the cron/script.
I'm trying to change the threshold by entering this line at the command line:
sudo /usr/bin/wget -O /dev/null -q
http://localhost:8091/0/config/set?threshold=1000&username=myuserename&password=mypassword
I see if the motion.conf file has changed, but it never does, whatever I try!
1) will this command work from the command line?
2) will i see a difference in the motion.conf file?
3) do i have to restart motion or somehow save the changes for them to become permanent?
I'm not sure if it's related, but i cannot control motion via the web interface either. It looks like its working, but it doesn't.
Iv'e included a few links of how iv'e tried to get this working:
